Letter of introduction
Before you read our proposal, this is how we work.
Before anything else, we want you to know who we are. Ilbira is an innovation studio formed by a group of friends — software engineers who've worked together for years. The explosion of AI has let us go much further: we used to not be able to reach so many different sectors, and now AI lets us learn faster and put ourselves in the shoes of clients with very different kinds of problems.
Over our careers we've worked with clients like Vodafone, Nokia, FIFA, and UEFA, across sectors as different as HR, ticketing, gambling, and construction. What unites us is a passion for being at the cutting edge of technology.
Behind this is a strong team — with over 48 years of combined software engineering experience — but not an oversized one: just enough to work on projects that genuinely motivate us, that we enjoy, and where we can really contribute. That's why we always start by checking there's a real fit between how you work and how we do — pace, expectations, and style.
Each of us brings something different. Fabián has led software teams of up to 30 people, managing development and DevOps projects without ever stepping away from writing code. Fran and Juan are JavaScript experts who, as soon as AI took off, didn't hesitate to reinvent themselves: today they apply AI across the entire software development lifecycle through a 7-agent structure, and we're still learning how to improve it every day. The three of us — Fabián, Fran, and Juan — apply the latest AI agent design patterns daily. And at the base of our pyramid is Tomás, a Data Engineer and Machine Learning and Python expert: the one who keeps our feet on the ground.
We work with our own AI maturity framework, from Level 0 to Level 6: from having a well-structured, well-governed data foundation, to operating a full multi-agent system. Every recommendation we make starts from knowing exactly what level you're at today.
We don't believe in adding technology for technology's sake. Many failures of so-called «digital transformation» come from digitizing a manual process that was already broken: it still doesn't work, just digital now, which creates the false sense of innovating. Our work starts with understanding the real problem, not with bolting on AI because it's trendy.
AI safety isn't negotiable. We set technical limits based on the EU AI Act where it applies, and we care as much about the system working as about you understanding exactly what it does and why.
We believe many problems are solved with training, not just more technology — that's why we train the teams we work with. And everything we build is yours: no black boxes, no dependency on Ilbira to operate what we deliver.
If you have questions after reading the proposal, or just want to get to know us before deciding, book a call — it's free, no strings attached.
Best,
Fabián Almenara
